Autumn Jewellery Trends of 2024

With a new season comes new jewellery trends to grace our jewellery boxes. While there are some autumn staples that continue to pop up in our stores and autumn outfits, such as shades of red and orange, leaf designs, and warm tones, each year brings on something fresh and different. While there are so many of these lovely trends to have a look at, we have compiled our most favourite for you to peruse.

Brooches

While you may consider brooches a thing of the past, or reserved for your grandparents, brooches are making a comeback in a huge way. Queen Elizabeth has long since been the cover girl for the brooch trend, apparently owning over 98 different pieces, and her legacy has lived on in the resurgence of this trend. While classic brooches are gorgeous, unique designs have been taking the fashion world by storm, with pieces that hold up clothes and change shape depending on the angle that you look at them. While you may not own 98, incorporating brooches into your jewellery box this autumn is a great way to add more shine to your look.

Necklaces

Necklaces are far from new, however, for years now necklaces have been dainty and slight, barely noticeable unless you’re concentrating. However, this season has brought back the chunky, maximalist necklaces. These statement pieces don’t have to be colourful or tacky though, big chunky chains and beautiful large designs have been gracing the runways, and our shelves. The beauty of the maximalist look is that you can express your true style. Adding in your favourite gem, or making sure the design is unique are great ways to ensure your personal style is shown through your jewellery choices.

Mixed Metals

Autumn is the time for warm tones, so it’s no wonder that gold takes centre stage during this season. But why not mix it up? Mixing warm and cool tones are often a fashion faux pas, but when it comes to silver and gold, it seems that the opposites compliment each other well. While mixing metals has often been frowned upon in the jewellery industry, this season is all about breaking the rules, and we love breaking this one! After all, this means you get to wear all your favourite pieces at once. While some pieces are created using both gold and silver, you can always start by wearing multiple solid pieces of different metals too!

Statement Earrings

Like necklaces, earrings have been under a strict minimalist order these past few years. But now is their time to shine! Statement earrings can be achieved in multiple ways, such as big chunky maximalist pieces. The beauty of the maximalist look is that you can completely personalise it. Add your favourite colours, metals, gems or designs; make it your own! However, this isn’t the only way to make a statement. A trend set to take this season by storm is mismatched earrings. Having different (yet usually similar) designed earrings are a great way to personalise your look and make a statement. You can make this look as minimalist or maximalist as you like, the sky’s the limit here!

Dark Hues

While warm, muted tones are common for autumn, this year we’re going a little darker. Beautiful onyx pieces are making a splash this season, as well as dark metal chains made of materials such as titanium. This not only brings a darker depth to your outfits and jewellery looks, it also brings an element of masculinity, and can create a daring contrast to your looks this autumn.
