It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… while you’re putting up your trees and rolling rum balls, it’s a good time to start thinking about what to get your loved one. Which piece to choose
Not everyone loves rings, or bracelets, or necklaces! So, first things first, you need to see what type of jewellery they like to wear. Do they have a penchant for rings? Maybe they love stacking bracelets, or they have a million necklaces to choose from! Whichever the case, it’s important that you choose jewellery that they will actually wear, there’s no use buying a beautiful pendant for someone who doesn’t like jewellery around their neck! Take a look at the jewellery that they already wear, that’s a good indicator on what they like. Or, if you’re REALLY unsure, maybe it’s best to ask!
Which style is King?
Jewellery is designed in a number of different styles, and there’s no ‘one style fits all approach’ when choosing the perfect gift. Is your special someone into an antique aesthetic? If that’s the case, maybe have a look at our lovely vintage and estate range. Maybe they’re more into minimalist designs? If that’s the case, maybe a simplistic and thin piece of jewellery with minimal to no stones is the way to go. Now if they’re more into maximalist and bright colours, large stones and an array of different colours is definitely the way to their heart here. The perfect piece is only a stone’s throw away
Choosing a stone in a jewellery piece can be very tricky business. How can you be sure what they like? How can you choose over SO many options? If amethysts, sapphires and rubies are haunting your dreams, why don’t you try to decipher what their favourite stone is based on their current jewellery? Chances are, your special someone has many jewellery pieces with their favourite stone, so this is by far the best place to look first. If they have a whole mixture, it’s safe to say that you can choose any piece you think is the best for them, as they must love having a mix and match. Now, the tricky part is if they don’t have anything for you to go off! There are many ways to get around this, including choosing a piece with no stone at all, like a chunky chain, or hoop earrings. Another method would be to choose a neutral stone, such as diamond, with no colour to clash with! However, if you don’t think this is an option, why don’t you try choosing a piece in their favourite colour or birthstone instead?
