Regency Era Resurgence

With the rise in popularity of Regency era fashion and trends, we think it’s the perfect time to bring back regency era jewellery! This era brought about some spectacular jewellery trends, and we are beyond excited to see these come back into fashion again! Today we’re going to look at some of our favourite parts of the jewellery in the Regency Era.

Magnificent Hues

When you think about the regency era, do you think about magnificent colours? Maybe not (unless you’ve watched Bridgerton), but vibrant, eye-catching hues were all the rage in jewellery. However, not all their magnificent pieces were made from expensive gems, majority of these pieces featured comparatively inexpensive gems such as garnets, amethysts and peridot. But the expense of the gems used did nothing to dim the glamour of these richly hued pieces! We’re excited to see colour coming back into jewellery!

Keep Your Loved Ones Close

We are so lucky to be able to always have a million pictures of our loved ones with us on our phones! But in the regency era, it wasn’t as easy! This gave way for portrait jewellery pieces to rise in popularity. While you might not be able to get pocket sized paintings of your loved ones that easily anymore, a photo works just as well! Or, if you’re wanting to go for a more vintage look, there are so many beautiful vintage portrait pieces in antique jewellery stores.

Matchy Matchy

Mismatched jewellery sets are so common now days, we pick and choose different earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. But in the regency era matching jewellery sets were all the rage. Matching earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and tiaras really brought the whole outfit together. This is one trend that we REALLY hope comes back in full force!

Nothing says regency era quite like the details. Minimalism wasn’t as common as it is now, and boy, do we miss a little more maximalism! Regency era jewellery had amazing details and motifs, including beautiful flowers, bows, leaf designs, animals, hearts. The list goes on! We are very much hoping that motifs and intricate jewellery details start popping into our jewellery boxes soon!
